Super simple Bruschetta Recipe

Bruschetta is an all-time favorite snack that we enjoy ordering when we go out to eat. I wanted to give this recipe a try at home. And it was a great success. The secret ingredient was my creative Balsamic vinegar substitute. This quick and easy bruschetta recipe was a great hit and everyone enjoyed at home. My husband loved the balsamic vinegar substitute. “It actually tasted better than balsamic vinegar” was his exact words 😃.


  • Crostini or Baguettes – 8- 10
  • Garlic cream cheese – To spread
  • Mozzarella – handful
  • Tomato – 1 (chopped)
  • Onion – 1/2 (chopped)
  • Basil leaves – a bunch (chopped)
  • Olive oil – 1 tsp
  • Pepper – 1 tsp
  • Salt – 1 tsp

Balsamic Vinegar substitute:

  • Soya Sauce – 2 tsp
  • Lime juice – 2 tsp
  • Sugar – 1 tsp


  1. Mix the Balsamic vinegar ingredients mentioned above and allow the sugar the dissolve.
  2. Meanwhile, mix tomato, onion, basil, olive oil, pepper and salt in a bowl and refrigerate for 30 – 40 mins.
  3. You can either use a ready to use crostini or baguettes that is store brought. Make sure it is freshly baked. I have used crostini in this recipe.
  4. On a baking tray, place the crostinis and smear garlic cream cheese on them. You can totally replace garlic cream cheese with garlic powder and olive oil.

5. Add a spoon of chilled mixture on the smeared crostinis and sprinkle mozzarella on them.

6. Bake it in the oven for 5-8 mins at 350 degrees until the cheese melt. If you are using baguettes, it needs to be baked for 10-15 mins more.

7. Add Balsamic vinegar substitute before serving and enjoy yummy bruschetta!
