Parsley Pesto Sauce

Pesto sauce is a very simple and easy recipe and mostly made of raw ingredients. You can prepare this sauce and store it up to a week. It can be used for pizzas, pasta and sandwiches. And a super healthy recipe rich in protein and antioxidants.

  • PREP TIME: 5 minutes
  • COOK TIME: 5 minutes  

INGREDIENTS

  • Parsley – 3 cups
  • Walnuts/ pumpkin seeds/ Almonds – 1 cup (roasted)
  • Cheddar/ Parmesan cheese – 1 cup
  • Garlic – 1-2 cloves
  • Lemon – 2 tsp
  • Olive Oil – 1/2 cup

METHOD

  1. Wash Parsley well.
  2. Add all the ingredients except olive oil to a blender and blend it to paste.
  3. Drizzle in olive oil every now and then until its pureed. Add more oil and blend it to a thin paste.
  4. Pesto sauce is now ready to be used.

NOTE

  • Parsley can be replaced with spinach or any other green leaf or herb.
  • If storing, cover the sauce with olive oil to avoid it turning black.
  • Salt & Pepper can be added if serving to toddlers and adults.
